To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first Applied Superconductivity Conference, which was held at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in November, 1966, the IEEE Council on Superconductivity and the Applied Superconductivity Conference, Inc. sponsored the preparation of a Digital Archive in 2006 that contained the proceedings and/or transactions of the twenty-one Applied Superconductivity Conferences that were held from 1966 through 2004. The DVD sets were initially distributed in the registration package at the 2006 Applied Superconductivity Conference, which was held in Seattle WA (USA) from 27 August through 1 September, as part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first ASC.
In addition to the DVD distribution, the Council on Superconductivity made the index of the archive available from the CSC web site, and this archive is available from the link below (or by clicking “Search the 2006 Archive” from the right sidebar).
The 2006 archive project was well-received by the applied superconductivity community, and the Council on Superconductivity is currently evaluating whether to issue an update to the archive. If you would like to participate in this effort or provide feedback on it, please contact Marty Nisenoff at firstname.lastname@example.org.
